Good morning. I need your advice on hormonal contraception. Today I had a visit to a gynecologist, which completely confused me - she has been taking Asubtela tablets for a year (she takes them in books and very regularly). At the visit to the gynecologist, I mentioned lower abdominal pain and occasional spotting in the middle of the cycle (literally, for example, one drop on a panty liner) I always read that it can be a side effect of pills, but it does not mean anything bad. Today at the visit I heard that my body could get used to my pills so it bleeds and the effectiveness may be limited?! Despite the fact that on the ultrasound I heard that the ovaries are dormant and there are no signs that ovulation has taken place. I am in shock, I have never heard before that supposedly the body can get used to the pills and they can suddenly be ineffective. My tablets were selected by the doctor and on the basis of research. What's more, the doctor said that the effectiveness of the pills can be influenced by alcohol consumption - not vomiting caused by it, but by drinking alcohol in itself, despite the fact that no other doctor has said so before. Is it true that after a while the body can get used to the pills / amount of hormones contained in them and they may cease to be effective? Please answer is the first doctor who said something like this
