Hi. As a contraception, I use Implanon Nxt.
I conducted research in response to questions on your website about the effect of various supplements on the effectiveness of hormonal contraception.
1. I know about the negative impact of St. John's wort. But I also read about other herbs, for example liquorice, mallow, hibiscus. You wrote that due to the phytoestrogen content, herbs can affect the effectiveness of contraceptive pills containing estrogen. Does this statement apply to Implanon Nxt? It does not contain estrogen. I don't quite understand whether herbs containing phytoestrogens can somehow affect the contraceptive effectiveness of Implanon Nxt? I don't drink herbal infusions, but I often drink teas and beverages that may contain a variety of herbs (including those containing phytoestrogens).
2. I often eat soy products, nuts and cereals. They also contain phytoestrogens. I'm a little confused. Should I avoid herbs, foods and drinks containing phytoestrogen-containing ingredients if I am using Implanon Nxt? Can phytoestrogens reduce the contraceptive efficacy of Implanon Nxt?
