Should I be afraid of pregnancy if I have taken an emergency pill?

I started taking hormonal contraception for the first time on the 8th day of the cycle (so said the gynecologist that there is no point in waiting for the next menstruation only hormonal contraception we take immediately) on the 10th day of the cycle there was sexual intercourse with ejaculation inside. On the 11th day of the cycle, I took emergency contraception due to the manhunt before pregnancy. should I continue to worry that I may have become pregnant?

If hormonal contraception is started on the 8th day of the cycle, it is recommended to use an additional method of contraception until the end of the 1st pack. In the absence of additional protection, there is a risk of pregnancy. The effectiveness of properly used emergency contraception is quite high. The use of an emergency tablet reduces the risk of possible pregnancy. I encourage you to read our material about emergency contraception: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/tabletka-po-czyli-antykoncepcja-awaryjna In the case of ellaOne, it can be used up to 5 days after intercourse (preferably within the first 24 hours). When using ellaOne, an additional method of contraception should be used until the end of the cycle, as it weakens the effectiveness of regularly used contraceptive pills: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/87820/ellaone-tabletki/apteki However, when using Escapelle, it is recommended to use it within a maximum of 3 days after intercourse (preferably within the first 12 hours): https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/27577/escapelle-tabletki/apteki I encourage you to take the test gestational after 10-14 days after intercourse. This will allow you to exclude a possible pregnancy. We wrote more about what pregnancy test to choose in the article: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/test-ciazowy-jaki-wybrac-i-kiedy-zrobic More about how to use contraception correctly, we wrote in the article: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/jak-prawidlowo-stosowac-antykoncepcje
