What are the contraindications to the use of preparations with astaxanthin? Can I use astaxanthin with drugs Concor Cor, Brintellix, Slinda? Does astaxanthin affect blood clotting?

Hello, Does the dietary supplement astaxatin have any contraindications to use? On a daily basis, I take concor 2.5, brintellix 10mg and Slinde. Can I take this dietary supplement? Are there any general contraindications to its use? Does it affect blood clotting in any way? Best regards

Astaxanthin reduces blood clotting and prolongs clotting time. The literature indicates that astaxanthin may reduce blood pressure, which may increase the hypotensive effect of Concor Cor.

So when it comes to blood clotting, it rather affects the reduction of coagulation? I was afraid of the procurative effect. In the case of concor, will it increase the pressure-lowering effect? Regards :)

The use of astaxanthin is contraindicated in people with allergies to fish or seafood. In the case of pregnant women, breastfeeding women or people with blood coagulation disorders, hypertension and autoimmune diseases, it is recommended to consult a doctor before starting supplementation. Astaxanthin is a safe supplement that rarely causes side effects. Possible rarely observed side effects include, m.in pigmented changes on the skin, lowering blood pressure, lowering calcium levels in the body, decreased libido or excessive hair growth. Numerous published studies indicate that in many patients side effects are mild and not of major clinical significance. It is not recommended to combine astaxanthin with drugs that affect the cardiovascular system (eg Concor Cor). Astaxanthin does not affect the effectiveness of birth control pills (e.g. Slinda). The interaction between Brintellix and astaxanthin has not been studied. Before using the supplement, I encourage you to consult a doctor who will assess the safety of using astaxanthin in your case. If it is not possible to visit a stationary visit, I encourage you to use the teleadvice offered, m.in. by the Gdziepolek.pl portal: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/telekonsultacja/z-kardiologiem The available literature describes studies indicating that astaxanthin may prolong the time of clot formation and improve blood rheology. I enclose a list of preparations with astaxanthin available in pharmacies. Choosing the offer of an online pharmacy allows you to compare prices and order the preparation with home delivery or personal collection at the pharmacy: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/substancje/astaksantyna I enclose links to check the availability of Concor Cor, Brintellix and Slinda and make a reservation at the selected pharmacy: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/19583/concor-cor-2-5-tabletki-powlekane/apteki https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/13859/brintellix-tabletki-powlekane/apteki https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/101505/slinda-tabletki-powlekane/apteki About whether it is possible to combine drugs with each other, we wrote in the article: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/czy-mozna-laczyc-leki-ze-soba
