To @Eureka:

Unless you experience vomiting and diarrhea, the amount of food you eat does not affect the effectiveness of the hormonal contraception you are using. We wrote about whether eating and drinking affect the effectiveness of birth control pills in the article:

To @Agula:

I encourage you to take one of the pregnancy tests available in online and stationary pharmacies. Choosing the offer of an online pharmacy allows you to compare prices and order the preparation with home delivery or personal collection at the selected pharmacy. Available pregnancy tests include, m.in:

https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/97388/pink-test-ciazowy-strumieniowy-super-czuly-domowe-laboratrium-test/apteki

https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/94711/baby-boom-test-ciazowy-kasetowy-test/apteki

In cities such as Warsaw, Wrocław, Katowice, Kraków, Lublin, Gdańsk, Łódź, Szczecin, Białystok, Poznań and Chorzów, products can be ordered with instant delivery in as little as 1 hour thanks to the Wolt Drive service.

- check if the service is available in your location:

Proper performance of the test will allow you to rule out or confirm a possible pregnancy. If you do not continue to take Elin after this sex, it may have affected your pregnancy. We wrote about how to properly perform a pregnancy test in the article:

Depending on the result, you should consult a gynaecologist (positive result) or internist (negative result and further persistence of symptoms). You can also take advantage of teleconsultation, e.g. via the Gdziepolek.pl portal:

Malaise and nausea can result, for example, from pregnancy, infections, stress. A doctor can try to determine the cause. Additional diagnostic tests may be necessary for this.

CY: If I go on vacation abroad and I eat more than usual, I eat almost all day, does this reduce the effectiveness of the pills?

Agula (Anonymous, 188.33.44.) 16 months ago

After I forgot to take the pill I didn't continue it, I got my period after about 3-4 days, after my period I don't continue contraception, it's been a week since my period, I have nausea, lower abdomen and back pain. Is it because I don't take pills? What could be the cause?

To @Agula:

In this situation, the effectiveness of contraception may have been reduced, especially if the delay in taking the pills was more than 24 hours. You should take the missed tablets as soon as possible (even 2 at a time) and take the next ones at the usual time. For the next 7 days, you should use an additional method of protection against pregnancy (e.g. a condom).

If conception has occurred, continuing to take the pills will not harm the baby, but it is worth consulting a doctor to discuss further proceedings.

Should I continue taking the pills? What if fertilization has occurred, it does not want to harm the baby

To @Agula:

Contraceptive pills are designed to inhibit ovulation, so there are no fertile days during their use. Skipping them, especially in the first week of the cycle, reduces protection against pregnancy and increases the risk of normal ovulation.

Agula (Anonymous, 188.33.240.) 16 months ago

I didn't take the pill on Friday, and I took it on Saturday and I didn't take it on Sunday, only on Monday evening, I don't know how fertile days work in the case of contraception, there probably aren't any, but according to the calendar I have fertile days if I didn't take contraception, and the next day after intercourse is ovulation, it exists when you take pills?

I'm not sure what you mean when you forgot to take 2 contraceptive pills every other day - I understand you just missed two pills in a row from the blister? Let me remind you that contraceptive pills should be taken every day, at a fixed time.

In the Elin documents, the manufacturer informs that if the delay in taking the tablet exceeds 12 hours, the protection against pregnancy may be reduced. Because not one, but two pills are missed, the risk of reducing the effectiveness of contraception is even greater. Intercourse after this event should therefore be additionally protected by another method of contraception, e.g. a condom, for at least 7 days (if contraception is used correctly for these next 7 days). In the situation described, there is therefore a risk that fertilization may have occurred. You did not write which specific tablets from the blister were omitted - depending on this, the further procedure in taking the drug may be different, although the manufacturer's recommendations usually apply to situations in which one tablet was omitted, not more.

I encourage you to consult a doctor, you can make an appointment for a teleconsultation, e.g. via the Gdziepolek portal:

https://www.gdziepolek.pl/telekonsultacja/z-ginekologiem

Here you can check the availability of the medicine and make a reservation:

https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/88837/elin-tabletki/apteki

If necessary, a pharmacy pregnancy test can be performed 10-14 days after intercourse. Here you can compare the prices of sample tests in stationary and online pharmacies and place an order with home delivery or collection at the pharmacy:

https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/94711/baby-boom-test-ciazowy-kasetowy-test/apteki

In cities such as Warsaw, Wrocław, Katowice, Kraków, Lublin, Gdańsk, Łódź, Szczecin, Białystok, Poznań and Chorzów, products can be ordered with instant delivery even in 1 hour thanks to the Wolt Drive service - here you can check if the service is available in your location:

After at least 7 days after intercourse, if necessary, you can also go for a blood beta-HCG test, which will help determine whether fertilization has occurred.
