Does the 8.5-hour delay in taking Orlifique tablets negatively affect their effectiveness?

Does the 8.5-hour delay for Orlifique tablets reduce efficacy? My fixed time of taking the pills is 21:30/22 while yesterday I fell asleep and forgot to take it. I didn't take it until 6 a.m. the next day. It was the 10th tablet from the package. Has the effectiveness been maintained in this situation and can I continue to have sex without additional contraception?

In the case of Orlifique tablets, a delay in taking the drug of less than 12 hours does not pose a threat to the effectiveness of the drug and does not reduce protection against pregnancy. In your situation, it is not required to use an additional method of contraception, because the tablet was taken after 8.5 hours, which means that the effect of the drug has not changed. If you forget to take the medicine in the future after 12 hours from the standard time of admission - please take the missed dose as soon as possible and use an additional method of contraception for the next 7 days.
