Does taking activated charcoal 2-3 hours after the contraceptive pill weaken its effectiveness?

Hello, on 14.03 I started a new package of Atywia Daily, right after finishing the placebo tablets. With 4 tablets from the new blister, I happened to take activated charcoal 150 mg, about 2-3 hours after taking the contraceptive pill. In this case, could contraception have been reduced? Is this counted as an omission of the tablet? Best regards.

In such a situation, I would recommend using an additional method of contraception (e.g. a condom) for the next 7 days. Activated carbon can limit the absorption of hormones from the tablet by "absorbing" them from the digestive tract. Preparations with charcoal can be taken with at least a 3-hour interval from contraceptive pills. We wrote about what drugs weaken the effectiveness of contraception here: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/jakie-leki-oslabiaja-skutecznosc-antykoncepcji
