I have irregular cycles and I have it all the time. The shortest period was 30 days, and the longest 86. I went to the gynecologists, but none of them did anything about it. Especially since the period can be painful and contains clots. Currently, I have a permanent partner and we made love "on fertile days". I put these words in quotes because I don't know if I have fertile days. Can I be pregnant despite such an irregular cycle? Do I wait until the day I should get my period?

Any unprotected intercourse can lead to conception. Irregular menstruation can make it difficult to get pregnant, especially if it is associated with ovulation disorders or lack of ovulation, but it does not exclude the chance of fertilization. Unfortunately, you did not get a diagnosis, it is not known what causes irregular menstruation. Fertility or lack thereof cannot therefore be inferred. If you want to check if you have become pregnant, it is best to take a pregnancy test about 14 days after intercourse. If you do not want to be pregnant, regardless of the problems with the cycle, you should use contraception.
