The day after the planned ovulation, my husband and I made love without protection. 13 hours later I took Ellaone. After 7 days from the planned ovulation and 5 days from taking the "after" pill, my lower abdomen and ovary still hurt. There was also a thick, dense white mucus.
Is there a possibility that these are side effects of taking the pill? And does it make sense to take Ellaone after ovulation? Can it make it difficult for sperm to arrive?

Hello, I have a similar problem, so I'm asking in this thread - on the night from Tuesday to Wednesday I had sexual intercourse - it was 17 days after the first day of menstruation in this cycle, we used condoms, but just in case I took the ellaone pill about 35 hours after intercourse (Thursday), because my cycles are long and irregular, so I was afraid of postponing the "fertile window" to a later date. A moment before taking the pill, I started to feel radiant pain in my right ovary and it has not stopped until now (Friday evening). Is this a sign that I may be pregnant? In addition, the night before taking the pill, my bladder began to hurt a lot and I still have pain at the end of urination

ellaOne is the medicine that has the main effect of inhibiting or delaying the onset of ovulation. Due to the fact that the occurrence of ovulation can vary depending on the cycle, the preparation can be used on any day. After ovulation, the drug is much less effective because its main mechanism of action (delaying the release of the egg) can no longer work. On the other hand, ellaOne may have an effect on the endometrium, which may make it somewhat difficult for a fertilized egg to implant (although I emphasize that this is not the main mechanism of action).
You wrote that the intercourse took place "the day after the planned ovulation", so I suspect that this is the date determined by the calendar method and you are not 100% sure that you have ovulated. If the drug was taken even immediately before ovulation, it is effective in about 80%
