If the contraceptive pills were started on a day other than 1 day of the cycle, i.e. 1 day of menstrual bleeding, it is necessary to use an additional mechanical method of contraception (e.g. a condom) for the first 7 days (if you start taking the contraceptive on day 2-5 of the cycle) or until you stop taking all the pills from the first blister (if the first tablet was taken later than day 5 of the cycle).
