Looser stool and an hour delay in taking the contraceptive pill - what is the risk of pregnancy?
19.99 zł

Is it possible to get pregnant if I use birth control pills and intercourse? This month I was an hour late with taking a pill once and once I had such a looser stool, but only once.

If, in addition to the factors mentioned in the question, the contraceptive pill has been used as directed, their effectiveness remains preserved. It is true that no method of contraception gives 100% effectiveness, but in the described situation the probability of getting pregnant is very small. An hour's delay in taking the contraceptive pill does not affect the effectiveness of contraception. A single occurrence of "looser" stool probably did not affect the effectiveness of contraception. If diarrhoea occurs within 4 hours of taking the tablet, the absorption of the components of the tablet may be disturbed, negatively affecting the effectiveness of contraception. According to the World Health Organization WHO, diarrhea is defined as passing at least 3 loose or watery stools per day.
