Hello, I take Vibin Mini for the second month and every other day I have spotting and occasional stomach pains. I read that the first three months are time to adjust. My question is, can these side effects reduce the effectiveness of the drug in any way, or are they just an inconvenience? How can I check that the drug definitely works for me? Best regards and thank you

During the first 3 months of using contraception, the body gets used to receiving hormones from the outside. Consequently, spotting may appear, withdrawal bleeding may be scanty or not occur at all. These symptoms should disappear in the following months of use. If you take the tablets every day, at the same time, without omissions - there is no cause for concern, the effectiveness will be preserved. Combined contraceptive pills are the most effective method of contraception for which the Pearl index is 0.1-0.9, i.e. 1-9 women out of 1000 using birth control pills become pregnant. If you still have concerns, you can use an additional method of contraception, e.g. in the form of condoms.
