Am I protected by Qlaira despite the lack of bleeding and what should I do if there is no bleeding after this package?

He uses Qlaira. After the first package, there was neither spotting nor bleeding. What could be the reason for this? This is my first hormonal contraception. After taking the last placebo tablet, I started the second pack. Today it is already the 6th tablet from the new blister. Am I protected despite the lack of bleeding, what to do if there is no bleeding after this package?

Thank you for your reply. I have dutifully taken and is taking every pill. The test was negative. I will therefore patiently wait for the bleeding after this package.

The Qlaira leaflet contains the exact answer to your question in the section "What to do if you do not experience bleeding on day 26 or in the next few days". According to the manufacturer: "The diaries kept by women participating in the clinical trial of Qlaira show that it was not uncommon for withdrawal bleeding (found in 15% of cycles) to occur after day 26. If all the tablets have been taken correctly, you have not had vomiting or severe diarrhoea, and you have not taken any other medicines, you are unlikely to become pregnant. If the expected bleeding does not occur twice in succession, or if you have taken the tablets incorrectly, you may be pregnant. Contact your doctor immediately. Do not start the next pack until you are sure you are not pregnant." What to do at this point depends on whether you have taken the pills correctly. If so, the risk of pregnancy is small and specific actions such as contacting a doctor are recommended to be taken if the bleeding does not occur again. The absence of bleeding does not reduce the effect of properly used contraception. If you have doubts whether you have taken the pills correctly, you can take a pregnancy test or go to the gynecologist without waiting for the end of the package (according to the guidelines from the medicine documentation): https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/test-ciazowy-jaki-wybrac-i-kiedy-zrobic I enclose additional information about Qlaira: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/65571/qlaira-tabletki-powlekane/apteki and our studies that may be helpful: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/jak-prawidlowo-stosowac-antykoncepcje https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/jakie-leki-oslabiaja-skutecznosc-antykoncepcji
