In most patients suffering from depression or anxiety, duloxetine generally starts to work within two weeks of starting treatment, while improvement in well-being may occur after 2-4 weeks. Sometimes it takes longer, but if after this time the patient does not feel better, it is advisable to consult a doctor. The appropriate dose of medicine will be ordered by your doctor based on your assessment of your health. In the treatment of depression it is usually 60 mg per day, and in generalized anxiety - initially 30 mg, up to 60 mg, with the possibility of increasing to 120 mg. It depends on the patient's response to therapy, but - as I mentioned - increasing the dose is the competence of the doctor and should not be done alone. The combination of duloxetine with medicines such as Xanax should be discussed with your doctor as it may lead to increased side effects such as dizziness, drowsiness, confusion and difficulty concentrating. I can present such information from a pharmaceutical point of view, but when it comes to the further course of treatment and the chances of its success, it is best to ask a doctor who knows your case.
