Didn't I start birth control pills too early?

Qlaira is my first contraception. I took the first pill as soon as the symptoms of menstruation appeared. There was not yet abundant bleeding, but the first spotting and characteristic pain in the lower abdomen appeared. I took the pill about 9:30 p.m. and the actual bleeding occurred around 2 a.m. I wonder if I took the pill too early and if contraception works for me?

You have done the right thing, there is no need to worry. Symptoms - spotting, lower abdominal pain can be considered the beginning of menstruation. Contraception will be effective, you do not have to protect yourself additionally.
