I've been using antibiotics for the last two weeks, tomorrow I'm starting birth control pills. Do I need to apply additional protection?
If I have been taking antibiotics for the last two weeks, and tomorrow or 2/3 I have to get my period and start taking birth control pills, will they work immediately? However, only after 7 days from the end of antibiotic therapy, the tablets will work flawlessly?

If you use an antibiotic with most birth control pills, it is advisable to use an additional method of contraception for about a week, it is best to check this in the package insert. As a rule - used without other drugs, single-component contraceptive pills, so-called mini-pills - show contraceptive effectiveness from 1 tablet, two-component (i.e. containing two active substances) - usually after 7 days of regular use.
