Hello, I have been taking vines tablets for 3 years. Recently, when I started a new blister of tablets, I took this first tablet much later than I should (about 16h). After three days of taking pills normally, with intercourse the fiancé ended up inside. Is the probability of being pregnant high? If I'm pregnant, will taking more pills affect my pregnancy?

If the yellow tablet is delayed by more than 12 hours (as is the case for you) from the usual time of use, contraceptive efficacy is no longer assured. In this case, a mechanical method, e.g. a condom, should be used for the next 7 days. If intercourse occurs during the 7 days preceding the omission of the first tablet, the possibility of pregnancy should be considered. The more pills are missed and the shorter the time interval between skipping them and the duration of taking placebo tablets, the greater the risk of pregnancy. In the case you described, contraception may not be maintained and there is a risk of unplanned pregnancy. As the manufacturer informs: diagnosing pregnancy while using a combination of estrogen and progestin (e.g. Vines tablets) is not a cause for concern. Of course, if the pregnancy is confirmed, then the use of contraception should not be continued. Therefore, it is worth taking a pregnancy test and consulting a doctor in case of a positive result.
