Is it normal that I have been bleeding for 19 days with the Nuvaring disc?
Good morning. I applied the Nuvaring album for the first time, on the first day of the cycle. Is it normal that 19 days have passed since then and my menstruation has not stopped? I bleed all the time. I hadn't used any hormonal contraception before.

In general, starting hormonal contraception on the first day of a natural cycle does not affect the course of bleeding. However, some patients report that bleeding after the start of the first contraceptive pack has an altered course. Some women experience a shorter than usual and less abundant period, while others experience a shorter period. In general, this has no negative consequences, as long as the bleeding does not last very long and is not intense. If you have been bleeding continuously for 19 days, it is difficult to consider it normal - I would suggest contacting a gynecologist.
