Contraceptive pills I take for the first time, if there are spotting during use, do they indicate ineffective protection?
I take the tablets for the first time, exactly on the 5th day of the period. After 19 days of taking pills I got spotting, maybe a scanty period that lasts for 7 days. Of course, I took the tablets until the end of the package and now I have a week break. Am I still protected from pregnancy?

If the pills have been used correctly and regularly, contraceptive protection is preserved. The occurrence of bleeding, spotting during the use of contraception may occur, especially during the first 3 months after the start of use. If, after this time, the midcyclic spotting continues to recur, a gynecologist should be consulted.
