During a 7-day break from using Baler, is it possible to take medications that may reduce the effectiveness of taking pills every day?

Is it possible to take medications during a 7-day break from using Baler that may reduce the effectiveness of taking pills every day? Do products that reduce effectiveness have a negative impact during the break? For example, when it comes to an antibiotic or other such things?

It depends on exactly what drug you mean. For example, drugs such as charcoal (it can absorb hormones from a tablet) or stimulants for peristalsis or laxatives (they can impair the absorption of hormones) will not cause interactions on days when the drug is not taken at all. However, there are drugs that can affect liver enzymes that metabolize hormones for a long time - they are precisely listed in the Belar leaflet. During treatment with these preparations, additional mechanical methods of contraception (e.g. condoms) should be used and for 28 days after the end of treatment, because even this is how long it may take to normalize liver function. The conclusions of the reports on the interaction of contraceptive pills with antibiotics - apart from rifampicin derivatives used in tuberculosis - are not conclusive. Nevertheless, it is believed that antibiotic therapy can in some cases negatively affect the presence and activity of the normal intestinal flora, which occurs in the intestines and is involved in the metabolism of hormones from the tablet. For this reason, in order to ensure maximum safety for the patient, it is recommended that additional methods of contraception (e.g. a condom) be used during the use of the antibiotic and 7 days after the end of taking the antibiotic.
