What are the long-term effects of taking melatonin?

I'm a man, I'm 48 years old. For a decade I have been taking melatonin tablets every day because I can't sleep. Even though I take melatonin, I still fall asleep around 3, 4, 5 or 6 in the morning. Can something happen to me after taking this medicine for so many years?

Melatonin is characterized by low toxicity. However, long-term intake of melatonin preparations may cause side effects such as daytime sleepiness, temporary depressive states, mild tremors, slight anxiety, abdominal cramps, irritability.
