Good evening. I have had a contraceptive implant inserted since April, unfortunately in the 3rd month after insertion I got bleeding that lasted 3 weeks. For this reason, the doctor prescribed me elin tablets to stop the bleeding and regulate it. Can these methods of contraception negatively affect each other and interfere with the contraceptive effect? The doctor did not mention anything about it.

It is generally not recommended to use two different hormonal contraceptives at the same time (unless otherwise advised by your doctor), as the combined use of several hormonal contraceptives may increase the risk of side effects that may or may not necessarily occur to you. You should observe your body and report any side effects to your doctor, please follow his recommendations. If you have any further concerns about your treatment, you should consult your doctor again. A medical consultation is also advisable if the bleeding does not stop - the doctor will recommend appropriate treatment in this situation, e.g. consider changing the hormonal contraceptive method used.

To @Kozieradka:
Food and drink have no effect on the contraceptive implant. There are no specific products to avoid when using a birth control implant because its effects are not directly related to diet.
And what does it look like with an implanon NXT or a copper IUD or a hormonal IUD ?

To @Kozieradka:
Green tea, especially in large quantities, can weaken the effect of combined contraceptive pills. The substances it contains, such as tannins, can affect the absorption of hormones and thus reduce the effectiveness of hormonal contraception.
It is also worth being careful when using other forms of contraception, such as patches or vaginal rings, as interactions can also occur in their case.

To @Anonimowa:
Both the contraceptive patches and the contraceptive pill do not affect the effectiveness of the contraceptive implant. Protection is maintained.
Please answer...:(

Yes, you are still secured. The use of two different hormonal agents may increase the risk of possible side effects, but does not affect the effectiveness of the therapy.
I have no side effects. Of course, the doctor recommended the medicine. I only mean whether I am still protected against pregnancy in such a case.
