What does spotting mean after a delay in taking a Yasminelle tablet in the second week? Is contraceptive protection maintained?

I've been taking coc for about a year (yasminelle).I missed one pill at the end of the second week, according to the instructions, I drank it as soon as I noticed it (it was already 12 hours later).Spotting brown discharge began, and later generally bloody. Now I take the medicine for 3 weeks according to the schedule .Tell me,what does the discharge indicate and does the contraceptive effect persist (sexual intercourse took place for 3 weeks without additional protection)

Brown spotting/bleeding may have been caused by a prolonged interval between doses of Yasminelle. According to the manufacturer, if the correct dosage was used within 7 days before the delay in taking the tablet, contraceptive protection is provided.
