I was 4 days late with applying the evra patch (it should have been applied on Monday evening and I applied it on Thursday evening). It was the first patch in a new cycle. On Wednesday I had two unprotected sex. How good is the chance that I can get pregnant now?

Thank you very much for your reply. In general, I'm not worried if it were to happen, because both my partner and I are ready for it if necessary, but I'm just wondering how to be more vigilant and detect this fact as early as possible:)

There is a chance that fertilization may have occurred. According to the leaflet, under no circumstances should the interval between cycles of use of the patch be more than 7 days. In case it is longer than 7 days the contraceptive effect may not be effective. Then it is necessary to use a non-hormonal method of contraception for 7 days at the same time.
As with combined oral contraceptives, the risk of ovulation increases with each day beyond the recommended interval with EVRA. If sexual intercourse takes place during a prolonged interval of more than 7 days in the use of the patch, the possibility of conception should be taken into account.
It's hard for me to determine the percentage of pregnancy in this case, if you are afraid of conception, please consult a gynecologist as soon as possible and recommend his recommendation. A pregnancy test can be taken 10-14 days after intercourse to give a reliable result.

For the future, keep a strict eye on the date of application of the new patch and, in case you forget it, use additional contraceptive methods, such as condoms.
