I'm in the process of taking my third pack of orlifique, two weeks ago I started my adventure with ice swimming and I started to experience quite strong spotting and pain in my lower abdomen a week before the placebo pills. It's as if menstruation is starting normally. Can ice swimming affect the effect of the pills? Or are they too weak for me?

There is no direct evidence that ice swimming (immersion in cold water) has a direct effect on the effectiveness of contraception. However, it is worth noting that some factors associated with ice swimming can affect the body and possibly affect certain aspects of reproductive health. For example, extreme temperature changes can affect metabolic and hormonal processes, which may be why you experience premature spotting.
However, please remember that it is normal to experience irregular bleeding or spotting for the first 6 months of oral contraception. As long as you take the pills every day, without skipping, at the same time - there is no need to worry.
It is worth using additional protection when using contraception with the following medicines:

And be careful when eating certain meals or using stimulants:

If the situation persists after 6 months, I recommend that you consult a doctor. At the moment, in my opinion, there is no reason to worry.
