What should I do if I took Drovelis placebo tablets by mistake?

Changing to a different color of the pills in the packaging of Drovelis contraceptive pills is an important issue from the point of view of contraceptive effectiveness. In the case of Drovelis, the color of the tablets in the package matters because different colors indicate different hormone levels during a given period of the cycle, the pink tablets contain the active ingredient (hormones) and the white ones are placebo tablets.

Because you have been taking white placebo pills for 4 days, the effectiveness of contraceptive protection may decrease. Adequate inhibition of the hypothalamic-pituitary-ovarian axis is achieved after 7 days
uninterrupted intake of pink tablets containing active substances. Please do not stop taking active tablets for more than 4 days.

If you have taken the tablets as directed for at least 7 days prior to the above situation, the tablets should be taken at the usual time. For the next 7 days, an additional barrier method of contraception, e.g. a condom, should be used. If this happened in the third week of treatment, skip the placebo tablets (white) if they are still available and start a new pack immediately. Spotting or intracyclic bleeding may also occur.
