Is contraceptive protection maintained if I took an extra pill on the same day?

I am in the process of taking pills on the 7th day, after two hours I passed a loose stool, panic I took an additional tablet from the second blister from the same day. Is protection maintained?

Taking the second contraceptive pill on the same day does not affect the effectiveness of contraception, but may contribute to side effects such as spotting. Contraceptive protection is preserved.
