Rarely reported side effects with Metoprolol include, m.in, paraesthesia (tingling and burning sensation), decreased consciousness. For example, dry mouth, excessive sweating, ringing in the ears, hallucinations (this may also be olfactory hallucinations) have been reported very rarely.
