What if I have very high cholesterol with Vibin and I feel unwell?
Hello, I have been taking Vibin contraceptive pills for about 2 years. In the blood results, I was diagnosed with very high cholesterol levels. I have mood swings, frequent nausea and a significant decrease in body weight. I would like to give up the pills, but before starting contraception I had very, very painful periods. Should I stop taking the tablets? Completely give up contraception or replace it with patches? Please help

Very high concentration of fats in the blood (cholesterol or triglycerides) is a contraindication to the use of Vibin tablets. This may increase the risk of a blood clot forming in the artery. The same contraindication has contraceptive patches, which are also a two-component drug. Perhaps your doctor would suggest you a single-component drug or a system with only progestin. Sometimes - but not always - with this type of preparations there is no bleeding at all, so there are also no painful menstruation.
