According to the leaflet, you should start using Microgynon 21 tablets on day 1 of your natural menstrual cycle (i.e. the first day of menstrual bleeding). You can also start taking the tablets between the 2nd and 5th day of the menstrual cycle; In this case, during the first cycle for the first 7 days of taking the tablets, it is recommended to use additional mechanical contraception. These are the manufacturer's indications and this is what you should do if you want to be sure that the drug works properly.
