Castor bean (Ricinus communis) is a plant from which castor oil is produced, used primarily for laxative purposes. As this preparation accelerates the shifting and removal of food content and medications used, it can thus reduce the effect of contraceptive pills. Therefore, taking castor oil may require an additional contraceptive method for the next 7 days.
