Contraception is preserved if the first pack of pills you start on the first day of natural menstruation. Then the drug should be used regardless of bleeding, taking first 21 white tablets, then 7 green ones. After the last green, you should immediately start the next pack, even if the bleeding is still ongoing. Then the protection will be preserved. If you started the first pack on a different day than the first day of your period, you will only be protected during the second pack of tablets.
