Is it possible to take 2-3 contraceptive pills at the same time?

I had spotting while taking Microgynon 21 (I have been taking these pills for two years now) the doctor said that I can take two tablets for 2-3 days and then take it as before. Can taking two pills a day for three days cause any side effects? Does it affect the effectiveness?

To @Aniela: If in the last 7 days the tablets have been taken as directed, stopping the tablets and taking a 7-day break for withdrawal bleeding will not affect the effectiveness of contraception.

Thank you if in such a situation I can apply this withdrawal for 7 days? In the sense of withdrawal bleeding

Apart from the situation where the use of 2 tablets at the same time is justified by the omission of the tablet, there are no recommendations in the professional literature regarding the use of double/triple dose contraceptive pills in the event of spotting or bleeding during their use. However, the doctor, based on his own knowledge and experience, has the right to recommend use in a different scheme than the generally accepted one. We are talking about the use of off-label drugs, which you can read more about in the article: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/leczenie-off-label-poza-wskazaniami Taking a higher dose of hormones increases the risk of side effects associated with the use of contraceptive pills. However, this does not affect the effectiveness of contraception. You can read more about how to use contraception correctly in the text: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/jak-prawidlowo-stosowac-antykoncepcje
