I got spotting in the evening on Tuesday and today Wednesday also spotting occurs and intensified, and the disc takes out only on Thursday at 1 p.m. Is this a bad symptom? Why did the withdrawal bleeding start when I had the puck on? In this Nuvaring cycle, I was sick with the flu, I was taking aspirin.

It is difficult to clearly determine the cause of spotting. If the contraceptive disc was used correctly, there is no reason to worry, the passage of the flu does not affect the effectiveness of contraception. There has been no evidence of aspirin on hormone levels, but there are speculations that vitamin C, which patients often use during infection, taken at a dose above 1000 mg may increase the concentration of female hormones in the blood, increasing the incidence of side effects associated with the use of hormonal contraception, e.g. intracyclic spotting. However, this does not affect the effectiveness of contraception. To sum up, the causes of spotting can be many. Above I gave only one of the examples. Sometimes it happens that bleeding occurs without a clear cause and unless it is repeated for several cycles, it does not have to be a cause for concern. In case of repeated spotting and bleeding, it is worth going to a follow-up visit to the gynecologist. I encourage you to read the text: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/kategorie/krazki-dopochwowe
