Prolonged bleeding at the beginning of contraceptive pills

I use contraception for the first time, I take the first pack of pills after pregnancy as prescribed from the first day of menstruation, bleeding persists already on the 14th day, is this a normal reaction and how long can it last?

The first months of using contraceptive pills are the time when the body adapts to the changes occurring under the influence of hormones taken - this is the so-called adaptation period, which usually lasts up to 3 months. During this time, irregular, prolonged spotting and bleeding are more often observed. Usually, these types of symptoms are not a cause for concern, however, if the bleeding is abundant and persists for more than 2 weeks, it is worth consulting a doctor.
