The first months of using contraceptive pills are the time when the body adapts to the changes occurring under the influence of hormones taken - this is the so-called adaptation period, which usually lasts up to 3 months. During this time, irregular, prolonged spotting and bleeding are more often observed. Usually, these types of symptoms are not a cause for concern, however, if the bleeding is abundant and persists for more than 2 weeks, it is worth consulting a doctor.
