If diarrhoea occurred within 3-4 hours of taking the tablets, absorption may have been reduced. In this situation, this should be treated as skipping tablets at the beginning of the blister. Full contraceptive protection returns after 7 consecutive days of correct, daily intake of the pill, and until then additional protection, e.g. a condom, should be used.
If intercourse has occurred during this time, it is worth considering taking a pregnancy test. Confirmation of the absence of pregnancy can be a pregnancy test performed after about 10 days after intercourse:
