Good morning, I use nuvaring. Although I have been taking it for a year and a half, I got spotting 5 days earlier, which turned into a period. The doctor recommended not to take a break and on the planned day of removal of the system, to set up another system at once.
Can I take a break 3 days in advance then? Do I have to wait 3 weeks again? Would the protection be reduced?
And can swimming pool and swimming affect the effectiveness of this contraceptive method?

So that the protection is maintained, the disc that you have now put on must remain in the vagina for 21 days. After this time, you can take a 7-day break, then put on another one.
Maybe I didn't write clearly. I'm currently in the middle of the second album. I did as the doctor ordered. So now I'm 5 weeks without menstruation. And I wonder if it has to be exactly 6 weeks in terms of the day?

To do as recommended by the gynecologist – you should wait until the first day of the break, so that the cycle of wearing one disc lasts a full 3 weeks. Then, "on the day of removing the disc", take it out and immediately apply a new one, for the next 3 weeks. That is, apart from the 7-day break for withdrawal bleeding.
The cycle of wearing each disc should last a full 21 days, and the interval between subsequent discs should not be longer than 7 days – then the protection is maintained.
Swimming in the pool does not affect the effectiveness of the puck.
