Hello, while drinking the Liberella contraceptive pill I had a problem with swallowing and I spat some water from my mouth into the bottle when I still had the pill in my mouth, and then I drank the rest of the bottle. Could this have affected the effectiveness of contraception or should I take an extra pill?

To @Nata:

As far as Liberelle is concerned, it is a prescription medicine, so it cannot be sold by mail order. The drug can be reserved in a Polish pharmacy and purchased stationary upon presentation of a doctor's prescription. You can check the availability of the medicine here:

To @Kasia:

No, taking two tablets in one day will not have a direct effect on the effectiveness of contraception under any circumstances.

I will take the rest of the pills from the cycle at the same time

And could taking two pills in one day have an impact on the effectiveness of contraception if I took the pill less than 4 hours earlier than the usual time the day before?

Analyzing your description, there was no situation in which it would be necessary to take a second contraceptive pill. Spitting out a little water while taking the pill did not impair its effectiveness, as the drug was eventually swallowed. If you still take one more pill, this will not affect the overall effect of contraception.

Situations requiring an additional dose include, for example, vomiting and severe diarrhoea - then there is a risk that the drug will not be absorbed.

In case of any doubts, I encourage you to use the teleconsultation with a gynaecologist - the service is available on our website in the e-visit tab:

I also wanted to ask if taking a second pill an hour after the first one, with which I had problems with swallowing, can affect the further effectiveness of contraception?
