On the first day of my period, I started taking sylvie 30. Today is the 16th day and I'm still bleeding. My face is swollen. Is this normal and how long will it take?

Spotting and irregular bleeding are very common at the beginning of hormonal contraception. Usually, these types of problems disappear on their own after 3-4 cycles. Swelling on the face may be related to the effects of hormones on the body. If this situation persists or intensifies, it is worth going to a gynaecologist for a check-up (and possibly try other pills). If you notice swelling and an increase in body temperature in your legs, stop taking the tablets and make an appointment with your doctor.
