Can I start taking birth control pills after I have menstrual bleeding after taking the pill?

If you have bleeding on the date of your expected menstrual period (or up to 5-7 days earlier or later), you can start taking the contraceptive pill. However, if the bleeding occurred earlier, it may be a mid-cycle bleeding caused by taking the tablet after and then I do not recommend starting to take the tablets.
