The doctor prescribed me Alexa 200 but the dose was probably too high. I had palpitations and told me to reduce to 100 mg . The tablet is the powder inside or can I divide it myself and take half a tablet?

No, the manufacturer did not foresee such a possibility. The capsule should be swallowed whole with water.
The capsule is designed to reach the stomach, and sometimes further to the intestines and release the substance that is to be absorbed. By opening the capsules and swallowing only their contents, we lead to a situation that part of the active substance settles for some time in the throat and esophagus. It is also treated longer with hydrochloric acid from the stomach and digestive enzymes. It follows that such a procedure may affect the absorption and effective action of the preparation. In addition, you will not divide the content into two perfectly equal halves. In this case, the dose difference may vary between +/- 20%, i.e. once you will take a dose of 80mg and another time 120mg.
Since the doctor has recommended a dose reduction, he should also issue a new prescription. If you have not received such a prescription from a doctor, you should contact him with such a request yourself. And if you do not have the opportunity to consult a doctor to get a new prescription for Aclexa 100mg, you can go to the pharmacy asking you to write a new prescription.
