Can antibiotics Cetix and Cipropol reduce the effectiveness of the anticoceptive drug Yaz?

Good morning. The doctor ordered me to use the drugs at the same time: Cetix and Cipropol. But now I read that these drugs should not be combined. Can these antibiotics reduce the effectiveness of the anti-coceptive drug Yaz?

As a pharmacist, I can understand your concerns. It is not recommended to combine Cetix and Cipronex, unless the attending physician recommends otherwise. The decision to use antibiotic therapy is made by the attending physician on the basis of, m.in patient's medical history and previous response to treatment. Only a doctor can decide on a possible change in pharmacotherapy. Cetix and Cipropol are two different antibiotics that can affect the effectiveness of the contraceptive drug Yaz. The full list of drugs that may weaken the effectiveness of contraception can be found in the article: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/jakie-leki-oslabiaja-skutecznosc-antykoncepcji I encourage you to use an additional method of contraception, e.g. a condom, throughout the period of antibiotic therapy and a few days after its completion. I enclose materials that may be interesting and information about the possibility of using teleconsultation: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/telekonsultacja https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/jak-prawidlowo-stosowac-antykoncepcje https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/jakie-leki-oslabiaja-skutecznosc-antykoncepcji https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/czy-jedzenie-i-picie-obnizaja-skutecznosc-antykoncepcji
