Hello, I changed Belara birth control pills to Drovelis a month ago. This is the first time I am taking contraception in a 24+4 regimen, hence my doubts about withdrawal bleeding. After the first package, it appeared only on the fourth day in the evening. The next day I had to start a new package. Despite this, the bleeding continues (today is the fifth day). Is this ok?

There is no rule for the duration and abundance of withdrawal bleeding. With the 24+4 regimen, you should expect withdrawal bleeding within the fourth week of the cycle while taking placebo (inactive) tablets. Most often, withdrawal bleeding occurs on the second or third day after stopping taking active tablets and lasts 3-4 days. The symptoms you feel are most likely related to the transition of the hormonal axis to a new type of contraceptive pill and are typical symptoms occurring in the first month of use (possibly less severe also in the second cycle on tablets) and should disappear spontaneously with the next package. If complaints of similar or greater severity persist in the next cycle, please contact your gynecologist.
