For 3 years, with a short break, I used the Nuvaring vaginal disc. Two months ago I contracted a recurrent infection, so the gynecologist recommended stopping the disc for a month to treat it and then returning to contraception. I took out the last disc on 04.04, withdrawal bleeding occurred on 07.04. Yesterday, 08.05, after a month without a puck, I got a slight spotting and put in a new system considering it the first day of the cycle. Did I do the right thing? Should I protect myself additionally, or maybe I put the puck at the wrong time?

It is best to wear Nuvaring on the first day of the natural cycle (i.e. the first day of menstruation), because then it works from the moment you put it on. You can also start using NuvaRing between day 2 and 5 of your period, but if you have NuvaRing this period, you should also use an additional method of contraception (such as a male condom) during the first 7 days of NuvaRing. The first day of menstruation is generally considered to be the moment when proper bleeding occurs, not spotting. It is not clear from your entry whether a regular period appeared immediately after the spotting occurred. It is therefore difficult for me to assess whether you have acted correctly. If in doubt about the management and protection against pregnancy, it is best to use an additional method of contraception.
