Spotting before the onset of withdrawal bleeding when using birth control pills - what to do?

Is it normal that when taking Orlifique before taking placebo pills I have brown spotting for a week (usually it is the 24th day of the cycle), and then with white tablets I get standard bleeding? I do not know if I have to count the days of the cycle from spotting or bleeding

Irregular spotting and bleeding usually occur at the beginning of the use of birth control pills, usually in the first 2-3 cycles. The body then adapts to the changes occurring under the influence of the hormones used. If you still have spotting after 3-4 months, report the problem to your doctor. It is possible that he will decide to change the contraceptive pills. Generally, the beginning of the cycle is considered to be the first day of bleeding, not spotting. When using birth control pills, however, we are not dealing with a natural menstrual cycle.
