Can hibiscus tea weaken the effect of birth control pills?
Hello, I would like to ask whether flavored teas, which have in the composition of Hibiscus, affect the effectiveness of anti tablets? It is not only tea with Hibiscus. Rather, it is as one of many ingredients. I'm mainly talking about Teekanne teas. Should I keep some time before and after taking the pills (combined pill), or completely stop drinking them?

No, the tea included in the post will not affect the effectiveness of the contraceptive pill. Currently, there is no conclusive evidence that nutrients (with few exceptions) can actually interfere with the action and effectiveness of contraception when consumed in normal amounts. Therefore, there is no reason to constantly see threats in the drinks and food consumed. Let me add that I do not have any gastrointestinal disorders. I realize that a dose of vitamin C above 1000mg could affect the effectiveness, but I wonder if - the mentioned tea could affect the effectiveness - can I continue to drink them or is it better to give up - if I can, at what intervals before / after taking the tablet I will add that it is only one bag per day or as I wrote earlier - for two days minimum
