Can I stop using hormonal contraception on my own, which I have been using for 3 months?

Hello, I have been using hormonal contraception for 3 months, but I would like to stop it, is it possible to do it calmly after a 7 day break, or do I have to go specifically to the gynecologist? I will add that privately I have to pay a lot of money, so please advise. Can I expect big side effects after such a short use?

There are no contraindications to self-discontinuation of hormonal contraception. After a 7-day break, you may simply not continue the medicine from the next blister. Side effects are individual and may be more or less evident in each patient. Initially, you may experience irregular spotting, bleeding and variation in the length of your menstrual cycle, but these disorders usually resolve within a few weeks. I would also like to remind you about the possibility of using an online medical consultation via the GdziePoLek portal: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/telekonsultacja/z-ginekologiem This possibility may be useful if you observe, for example, worrying symptoms associated with discontinuation of tablets. I enclose a useful article related to the topic: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/jak-prawidlowo-stosowac-antykoncepcje
