If you are considering using a contraceptive injection, you should go to your gynecologist. If the specialist decides that this form of contraception will be safe and effective for you, then he will issue a prescription. The prescription can be filled at any pharmacy. Then the injection can be performed by a gynecologist or midwife, e.g. in a gynecological office. If you use a private gynecological service and the doctor has this type of injection in stock, you can perform it immediately during the visit. It is worth agreeing on this by phone before the visit. Usually, the drug is administered in the first 5 days after the start of the menstrual cycle. So it is worth making an appointment with a gynecologist just after menstruation (no later than up to 5 days after menstruation).
