Is spotting that persists for 18 days normal and does it affect the effectiveness of Atywia tablets?

Good morning, I have recently started taking birth control pills -Atywia. Unfortunately, it has been bloody/staining for 18 days and quite intensively. Sometimes brown mucus occurs instead of bleeding. Does contraception work well in such a situation? The doctor told me that tailoring should take up to 14 days. What in such a situation? Irregular spotting/bleeding may occur with all contraceptive pills. This situation occurs especially during the first months after the start of taking the preparation. If, after three months, mid-cycle spotting continues to occur, then additional gynecological examinations should be performed (and perhaps change the tablets to others). The above side effect does not affect the effectiveness of Atyvia.
