Should mid-cycle spotting while taking birth control pills be a cause for concern?

Good morning, I am currently on my 4th pack of Vines birth control pills and in 2 weeks there should be withdrawal bleeding. Since yesterday I noticed that the mucus is pink/slightly red and the abdominal pain is small. I'm guessing that this is mid-cycle spotting, but if they occurred only after 3 months of using the drug, is this a cause for concern? Since the beginning of taking the pills, this has not happened to me.

If you have used the contraceptive pill as directed, the occurrence of midcyclic spotting is not a cause for concern. Such spotting or bleeding can occur without a clear cause at any time, especially in the first months of using birth control pills.
